Warner Bros. acquires rights to Patrick Lee thriller novel; Justin Lin to DirectWarner Bros. has acquired the rights to a currently untitled novel series penned by author Patrick Lee. The studio has also brought on Justin Lin to direct the project, who will produce alongside Michael De Luca.
The first novel is set for release in 2014, and follows ex-special operative Sam Dryden, who gets wrapped up in a mission to keep a mysterious young girl safe from a powerful government agent.
Justin Lin is best known for his work on the Fast & Furious franchise and has been attached to numerous other projects including the sci-fi films Hibernation and Subdivision. He is also helming the upcoming Japanese comic book adaptation of Lone Wolf and Cub.
No production schedule has been released.
